Scrip is a no-selling program that allows families to raise money for their non-profit organization (NPO). Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. Gift cards can be physical cards or eCards. You purchase gift cards from your organization at face value, and your coordinator orders those cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a reduced price. The difference is an instant rebate for your organization. (In our case, your Fair Share account!) It’s really that simple! When you use scrip gift cards at your favorite retailers, you’re fundraising while you shop. Great Lakes Scrip Center offers over 300 of the country’s biggest brands , including grocery, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, home improvement, and more. Just by using scrip to pay for your normal
weekly purchases, you can easily raise $500 or more per year.

When families buy scrip gift cards through the scrip program, we receive the full value of what we pay, but our program pays a reduced price for the cards – between 3% and 15%, depending on the retailer. For example, if families eat at Applebee’s after a band competition and use gift cards instead of credit cards for payment, our program earns an 8% rebate that will go directly towards your Fair Share account to cover your band related expenses. Whether you’re part of a marching band, winter percussion, etc.., the savings can really add up.
Scrip is available for over 700 of your favorite stores. Please click the following June/2016 Scrip Report link for participating retailers with the respective percentage rebates that can go towards your Fair Share accounts!
